About the director

Wade Coley is a Christian who has been blessed with a beautiful wife, Peggy, and six wonderful children.  He moved from  Maryland in August, 2022, and is enjoying a new start here in Owensboro teaching and performing music!

A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory Institute of Music, John Hopkins University MD, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in trombone performance, music education, and also a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from UMBC.  Up until last year, he taught instrumental and vocal music for Baltimore County School. He has also directed church choirs, coached Honors Band and All-State sectionals, freelanced on trombone, and has been active as a composer and arranger.

His elementary students worked hard each year, earning Superior ratings and 1st place at the Music in the Parks Festival at Hershey Park, PA. Those were fun times!

During that time, he directed the Carroll Music Program in Jacksonville MD, which offered group lessons for strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion  He is thrilled to begin the same program here at the Owensboro Music Academy!
